Moved from Contentful and Vercel to Firestore and Cloud Run in one session with Claude Code.
This site ran on Contentful for articles and Vercel for hosting: a monthly bill for a handful of posts, and a stack that shared nothing with the client projects I was building on Google Cloud. The rebuild moved it onto the same architecture, in one working session.

What I built
- Articles moved from Contentful into Firestore, read through the Admin SDK on the server. Firestore rules deny all client access, so nothing sensitive can leave the server.
- Hosting moved to Cloud Run behind Firebase Hosting, deployed by GitHub Actions through Workload Identity Federation, with no long-lived keys.
- Lighthouse CI on every pull request, an RSS feed, and a newsletter sign-up with a honeypot and rate limiting instead of a CAPTCHA.
- The same design, so a reader would not notice the move. The About page and the work section came later, on the new foundation.
How it runs
The codebase shares its conventions with the client sites, so a fix made here is a fix I already know how to port there. Content edits happen in Firestore; nothing is rebuilt by hand.
